April brings the start of a new year and a new fishing season. Fly fishing the rivers or trolling the lakes for trout or salmon is where we spend our time. Although we generally are fly fishing we can spin fish for trout as well.

May

June

June can be one of the best months for lots of fish in the boat and lots of big fish. Trolling for rainbows and browns can still be good, and we prepare for the striped bass to start arriving for the year towards the end of the month.

July

July we are almost on the water every day, sometimes running doubles or triples. When the Striped bass fishing is good we spend the majority of our time on Penobscot bay, also running our lobstering and scenic nature trips. The bass fishing seems to always be good with lots of fish every trip.

October

The bass fishing can still be good this time of year we can also troll for trout or salmon in the lakes. If in season we can also pair a fishing trip into a cast and blast trip and target some ducks or geese. I also spend a good amount of time deer hunting.

August

August is a lot of the same things that July brings, The striped bass fishing can be slow during a big tide swing but it can also be on fire when the tides and the sunrise lines up. The trolling for trout tends to heat up towards the end of the month, it’s slower fishing but fun and chance at something different.

November/December

  1. Deer Season

I take these months off to spend time with family and friends, deer hunt, duck hunt and gather thoughts on how the year went and make plans to prepare for the next season.

September

September comes and my season begins to wind down. Work gets busy again and my availability becomes just weekends. The Striped bass fishing winds down by the middle of the month but the large and smallmouth bass fishing can still be good through the month.

January-March

ICE FISHING! If you don’t like the cold this might not be for you but it can be some fun fast paced fishing. We decide what we want to target, pick the body of water and get after whatever species we decide to target for that given day.
